Yeah, they have nice "easy modes" that work most of the time, but sometimes what you want and what the camera thinks is best are not aligned. Like for me, where, while I'm just using a cellphone camera, there are instances where I'm switching the focus to manual because I know how far away my preferred focus is. Or, less directly, switching to HDR mode so that it takes three pictures with varying exposures. Regardless, I suppose this is like missing being able to mess around with things using Assembly code.
