I didn't see any responses to this within the next few dozen messages, so I'm also kind of wondering if there are any good photo manager programs that _do_ eat up more than 250mb of storage.

Not sure if there's anything that would appeal to me, but I use Google Photos for most things, and otherwise it's just manually moving files around (Google Photos is a backup and a way to search my photos, not actually a photo manager program, for me).

But if there's a way I could use Google Photos less, and have something that I control on hardware I control (and can backup), it certainly would be nice.
