The temperature drops I'm reading about are crazy - something like 50
degrees in 12 hours?

I'm on the California coast, no weather warnings here. But we have power
outages often, I'm up in the hills with lots of trees and pole-delivered
power.

Camping is a good for half-assed prepping. I have 2 camp stoves, spare
gas, sleeping bags, battery-powered lanterns and a solar lantern that
doubles as a phone charger. In the back yard I have a gas BBQ and one of
those heating elements that sits on top of a propane canister.

We bought a half a cord of firewood, and my trump card for power outages
- a Prius with an 1100 watt DC to AC inverter.

Party at my house. Bring booze.
