Al> Good times they were! Indeed! I can remember replacing my old Zoltrix 2400 modem (with no error correction) with an external 9600 baud model (some Hayes clone, cannot remember the name). While still slow compared to the newer 14.4k/28.8k/56k modems, I can remember marvelling at the speed increase, as well as the fact that I didn't have to continue whacking backspace clearing visual artifacts created by CRC errors.
