Subj : Espressoless To : All From : poindexter FORTRAN Date : Thu Dec 01 2022 07:19:00 My faithful espresso maker pulled its last shot yesterday. The boiler was getting up to speed when the ground fault circuit breaker tripped. Taking it apart took a bit of work, but it appears there's a short somewhere inside - all of the connections look good and tested OK. I bought it 22 years ago at a Williams-Sonoma sample sale for $50, it was priced at ten times that price, and pulled shots consistently the whole time. I'm in the market for an espresso machine in the $350-$600 range, any suggestions? I like the Breville Barista Express, but am a little concerned about all-in-one appliances. I'd hate for the grinder to break while the espresso machine worked. The Gaggia Classic plus a separate grinder looks pretty good, and parts are readily available. ....
