The first incarnation of realitycheckBBS had 2 30 mb drives and 2 mb of RAM. 
Hard to fathom that it did mostly what I'm doing now on a VM with 2 cores, 3 
GB of RAM and 100 GB of disk. Of course it would fill up the disk during a 
Fido mail run and crap itself, but what the heck...

I used to have to unpack Fido mail packets into separate directories per 
echomail area, with *.msg files for each message, then import those into the 
message base. Took up twice the amount of disk space for what I'd import.
