I know I blabbed about this a few times but I was the exact same... Windows 
2000 just "sold" me on how good it was at the time.

I could set up a basic VPN and RDP into my system from anywhere, do proper
backups to a tape drive because it had Ntbackup built-in. These things were
outrageously expensive for OS/2 or impossible, or just halfassed.
