Regulatory requirements (UL certifications) are the main reason why lots clinical based IT hardware is old and typically lacks redundancy and modern advanced configurations. They also pay way more for the old gear that has the "UL" certification on it. I have seen cases where the 24-port network switch was UL certified, but the 48-port wasn't (exact same hardware/switch - just one had more ports). So they would have to buy (2) 24-port switches vs (1) 48-port switch. Basically, it is a regultory requirement to buy old outdated crap because it takes years and years to get anything relatively new - certified. - Mark ÿÿÿ --- WWIVToss v.1.52 * Origin: http://www.weather-station.org * Bel Air, MD -USA (21:1/132.0) .
