I can relate and still run eCS for my BBS nodes. At least it is virtualized now and no longer living in "driver hell" with OS2. The other major thing that plagued OS2 for many years is the lack of decent networking support. Always way behind on the network side of things. At least they added Samba support in eCS and that works pretty solid.
