Yeah, I dunno. I s'pose even in my youth I was amongst the odd ones out, I enjoyed reading, read everything I could slap my eyeballs onto. And that may give heavily rose shaded glasses. But there were plenty that had trouble with it back then too, for the most part they were children of migrants for whom english was pretty much a second language. Still furiously scrubbing at those lenses, I'm pretty sure in the limited circles I travel, and I've mostly only got family to go by these days, those germinations that arrived later seem to have a much higher proportion of low grade morons in the english dept.
