Mostly the same scenario here too. I've been running my own email server at
home for close to... 15 years and its all Microsoft, Exchange, proxy 
frontend etc, no Linux here. Are you using Domain-keys, SPF/Dmarc etc?

Never had any problems delivering to Gmail. Microsoft I'm convinced is using 
some sort of internal reputation for Hotmail/Live.
