This is, indeed, I would argue that this is not just a BBS thing, but perhaps something you may well expect to find in a number of communities. I wonder if it's sometimes borne out of incumbents comfort for the ways things are done, the desire for consistency etc. I'm not against such things per say but I agree new ideas that come along into any pursuit/interest (if tested or trialled with an open mindset) can lead to developments unseen or thought of by the wider community prior. te> became a thing. Sadly, as in many things, many of the more te> reasonable voices in the community also fell casualty to the te> effect. I'd like to think the not all left, and of course what is 'reasonable' to one may be seen as unreasonable to another. The joys eh? :) Kerr Avon [Blake's 7] 'I'm not expendable, I'm not stupid and I'm not going' avon[at]bbs.nz | bbs.nz | fsxnet.nz --- Mystic BBS v1.12 A47 2021/12/24 (Linux/64) * Origin: Agency BBS | Dunedin, New Zealand | agency.bbs.nz (21:1/101) .
