We have a similar setup.  We have everything stored on a NAS in the basement 
and use an Apple TV & an app called Infuse to stream it in the living room.

It's a pretty slick app which has a nice interface.  When we're done with 
whatever we want to watch there, it's just a few buttons on the remote to 
switch over to Netflix, Disney+ or Tablo (OTA TV) to watch something there, 
makes for a nice one box/one remote solution.
