I don't remember exactly how far away the pole was from the house, but we 
could fit 4 cars end-to-end in the driveway, so at least that plus a little 
bit.  Bell only put another two pair cable in from the pole, so it sounds 
like they cheaped out on me.

Not that it really mattered, we moved from there to another house in '98 to 
another area & bell wouldn't let me keep my number (from 705-645-xxxx to 
705-385-xxxx).

That house also only had a two pair coming in from the street and by then 
BBSes were already giving way to the internet.  I do remember moving my BBS 
to that new house for a bit but it didn't last long Nov '98 to Sep '99
