For a moment, it seemed that Interac (debit, and eTransfer)  
were exclusive to Rogers. But according to the the recent link  
you provided on the matter, RBC (RoyalBankCanada) debit was OK  
in British Columbia.

I think it is astonishing that Interac didn't have a fallback  
option over another carrier - or couldn't arrange to have one  
in a few hours.

I'm surprised that Rogers rolled out the update trusting  
Ericsson.  Perhaps Rogers should have "tested" the update on a  
parallel network or something.
