Despite coming from a time when it was 'illegal' to be gay in the UK, I never really understood this hyper-conservative mentality. Some people like sausage for their breakfast, others prefer bacon - can we not just concern ourselves with our own choices and enjoy the repast together?

Besides, some of the greatest names in history have been gay - Alan Turing is one that springs immediately to mind. A man whose genius single-handedly liberated the hand that would ultimately crush him - utterly shameful.
