Where abouts is your server located?

I did find a bug today where I wasn't closing the TCP session correctly, which I've since fixed. I don't know if that would have caused it to hang. Does curl show you the data as it arrives? as it would be interesting to see if the hang is at the start or the end, or if it's evenly slow.

Thanks again for helping me test. I'm leaving it running for the time being to see if it will crash, or at least stop responding since i fixed that keepalive thing. With everyone here who's tested plus the port scanners, it's been good.
