That's what we discovered back in the 80's-90's on the BBSs.

If you ignore them, they just go away.  Hence the replies to some people of
"Don't feed the troll".

Again, nothing new to the BBS world.  Back when I ran a BBS, I had to clean up
at least 1 account that violated the rules every week or so.
