Hah, I just made a coffee and got a bowl of peanuts :D > I agree... today has been fun, most of what I am doing is trying to swat down inactive nodes and delink them. For all the upsides of running a mix of BinkD and HPT etc. it's a royal pain to have to edit multiple config files to add and remove nodes, equally I have to manually check echo stats to see which node is building up with excess files, days... and then also manually poll as that node to clear held/stuck echomail as well as clear fileboxes... You should try running fsxnet with postie. I bet you'd love hpt after that lol. Posite works (I'm running happynet with it) but it's all configured in one long toml file - which is ok if you're just an end node, but as a hub it gets a bit unweildly, and I'm only running a tiny net. I shudder to think what it would be like with fsx size node list. > I confess the Mystic setup up for auto removal and one place to add/remove a node vs 3-4 config files is far more appealing.. Sounds like the management side of things was well done with that. > It's in the area of adding/removing nodes that takes a bit of time so I do need to make time for that admin. That's cool, I'm fine with that but may not be acting on things within 30 mins now :) Yep, that's where it's ongoing work. I honestly don't think a couple of days is bad at all, I've signed up to a couple of smaller nets and both have taken a few days to get running. 30 minutes is pretty awesome, but I don't think anyone expects that speediness. > Yes I imagine you'd be far more aircon for cooling that heating. Lugging firewood builds muscles and gives me a chance at wrist wrestling... but only a chance While I am sure it doesn't get as cold as down there, it does get fairly cold up here. Toowoomba's up on top of the great dividing range, so gets quiet a bit cooler than say brisbane or on the coast. Though lately with all the rain / flooding we'd be getting that whole ad campaign "beautiful one day, perfect the next" is a little bit thrown out the window... and Queensland the "Sunshine" state, There is a house (probably a few) near our unit complex with a wood fireplace, you can smell the smoke when it's cold. It's not overpowering or anything, but kind of reminds me of spending time with grand parents in South Australia out on the farm lighting camp fires in the winter.
