Ap> Ap> Do they still require mask wearing there? Here it's only required in Ap> health care settings like going to the doctor or chemist. We choose to Ap> wear ours anyway when we go out, but we don't have to. In some places it's still mandated like on airplanes and in hospitals etc. Others I think it's more at business discretion. I'm honestly still trying to suss it out :) Ap> Yep, been thinking of you re: parents. Hoping all is going ok there. Thanks, yeah my Dad is tired as his caring duties for my Mum have increased, so I think his ability to get out and get exercise and just do non carer stuff has declined a lot so that's impacting on his health. Mum I think is about the same but in decline slowly with her cognitive functions... the joys of Alzheimer's. They both turn 80 this year so my plan is to go visit them for their respective birthdays, the first one is in July. Ap> > got other things on these days but it's nice when I see a few old (can Ap> > say that now :)) names pop up now and then. Ap> Ap> Yeah I guess so. fsxnet's been here a few years now. I'm definatly Ap> feeling old anyway. you and me both :) We need a virtual tavern where we can sit and quaff a beer and talk about days of old.. ha. Ap> Cool. I take it that's an american service? (Do you guys even have Ap> walmart? We don't) Pretty cool that they don't block it through the Ap> tunnel. Yep it's a USA thing but because I run the IPv6 tunnel I seem to gain from that and can watch it. No to Walmart the only one I have been to was in the USA a few years ago. Ap> > Watched The Taking of Pelham 123 from 1976?? tonight. Not bad, I liked Ap> > more than the 90's version with Denzal Washington in it. Ap> Ap> I've not seen the original, but have seen the 90s version. Don't Ap> remember much about it though. It's typical Denzal being earnest and saving the day.. :) Ap> > weekend. The nice thing is it will be a long weekend here as we have a Ap> > public holiday (Queen's Birthday) next Monday. Ap> Ap> Yep, I wonder if it will be a good thing or a bad thing? For some I Ap> imagine having that human interaction would be welcome, for others not Ap> so much.. I'm probably in the latter catagory :P It went OK, they want us to ramp up days in, this week it will be 3 instead of 2 and then after that I may be 4 in and 1 at home. It's Queens Birthday holiday as I write this, the day is calm and sunny so it's a nice way to spend the day with the windows open, sun coming in, catching up on echomail and some network admin. Ap> Thanks. been working on a synchronet system, working on JS mods and also Ap> wrote a new door. Had a bit of a look at talisman, there's an issue Ap> where in some circumstances a node can hang and not free up. I've Ap> noticed it on alpha's BBS, but haven't been able to reproduce it here, Ap> so not really sure what's going on there. I thought it was when people Ap> hung up inside a rlogin session, but I'm not sure now. Ap> Sounds good, so long as it's fun and/or of interest then chip away at stuff I say. I have been putting off doing some BBS stuff because it feels a bit overwhelming... and it's probably not. Ap> Has it been really cold there? We've had a "Polar blast" last few days, Ap> I'm not sure what that means exactly, but I assume it's wind comming Ap> from antarctica. It's been pretty cold, though I imagine nothing like Ap> you guys get when it's cold there :P Not really, there are still some leaves on trees that would have lost them 6 weeks ago... but it is now cold, we're burning firewood each night and there's some talk of a polar blast next weekend and possible snowfall to lower levels... but overall it's certainly been a milder winter and autumn so far... how about you? --- Mystic BBS v1.12 A47 2021/12/24 (Linux/64) * Origin: Agency BBS | Dunedin, New Zealand | agency.bbs.nz (21:1/101) .
