Probably because Europe is far away from Australia, so much that a big badass
war over here is of lessed concern compared to anything happening in Australia
itself.

If there was some bad war in the southmost part of Africa it would not make it
to the news here, or at least it would not be as persistent, because it would
be less relevant to Europeans.
