In my area, the Amiga was being sold in appliance stores and advertised as a
gaming system.  That doesn't match the image of a "serious computer."

For many of us, the Amiga looked like yet another incompatible system for
people who only wanted to play video games.

But it's well documented now how bad Commodore Marketing was at this time.
