I remember specing out a system for a computer store to build for me.  They
told me that in order to get what I wanted, they had to use a motherboard meant
for a server - so it could take plenty of RAM.  I only used a small number of
slots, but, according to the manual, I could fit 256MB of RAM by populating all
the slots with 16MB RAM sticks.

One day, for fun, I priced out doing that and it was more than I paid for my
car.
