As I look at my desktop, what I see running are a bunch of terminal windows, a couple of browser windows with a bunch of tabs -- mostly documentation, Element, a few VS Code windows, a TeX Live utility, and PDF viewers for C99 and C11 and a bunch of datasheets/processor manuals for x86, ARM and RISC-V.
