It seems to depend on what version you're using as to how it works. I can
copy quite happily, left click and hold to the end point, it'll
automagically copy anything thats highlighted.  Select your insert point and
right click to paste it in.  Occasionally for reasons unknown can't paste
from other applications in very happily.

The other copy alternative was to enter the scrollback buffer and copy from
there much the same way.
