I'm not saying that it wouldn't be one hell of an adjustment, but our notions of local time are arbitrary anyway.  They've just been embedded for several hundred years.

Why is "sunrise" 6am?  Why not start our "day" (sunrise) at 00:00?  That makes more sense....

I just think that in our increasingly global world where people have to attend meetings in the middle of the night anyway because the scheduler set it for a time when it was daylight for themselves, it's not much of a reach to just use UTC for everything and people adjust.

I'm glad the US is finally killing Daylight Savings Time.  I've thought that was stupid for years for similar reasons.
