Thank God?  Would it have been such a big deal if this was a leap year?  And spring would come at the same time regardless of whether February had an extra day. The seasons have to do with the rotation of the earth, not our (arbitrary) calendar.  And spring doesn't start on March 1st; according to Google at least, spring this year starts on March 20 (and if this year was a leap year, spring would have started on March 19).
