I do that myself - I check the social media sites of people I've just made
contact with, to see if there's anything in common, or something that's going
to be an issue.  I have weeded out potential threats that way.

You're not going to find much recent on me from Twitter, I don't use it for
anything other than reading Twitter links that people post to me.
