A lot of new "tech" is really just consolidating power and monetizing human
interaction.  People are sleepwalking into a dystopia by allowing a situation to emerge where a certain class of people in Silicon Valley get to mediate everything we do and say.  It is the antithesis of what the free internet is supposed to be about.

Needless to say, I don't use Discord, won't use it.  Being able to insert GIF's isn't worth the price.
