I'd played with Boodler, a Python soundscape tool that could generate loops 
on the fly. I can't get it working with Windows 10, though - I might try 
with Linux on my laptop.

I originally got involved with it running Buddha Machine loops (Buddha 
machines are these little lo-fi boxes that play ambient loops. You can 
choose between loops and pitch bend the sound.)

There were lots of other possibilities with boodler, and it was a lot of fun 
to play with. That might be an option for you.
