Finally, someone mentioned pulsing. I have tinnitus that presents as a high- 
pitched whine, but it's manageable. What I do notice is that when I go 
outside, sometimes the background noise pulses, like sort of a whomp-whomp- 
whomp noise.

Not so much in a quiet environment, then it's just a ringing.
