My question is what is the %age for any virus where we simply 'stop talking about it?' I know that COVID and the FLU are not the same thing, but many people do die of the flu every year, it does not hit the news, media. People just 'accept' that so many people will die of the FLU. Covid hits harder, and kills faster, people create vacines to help protect others, socieity takes these vacines. Case numbers decrease, people still get infected, and people still die. Twenty years from now, people will still get COVID, and will still die (hopefully in much smaller numbers!)..but what is the percentage of 'acceptable' deaths before it is no longer a newsworthy story? For that matter, extend this question to any illness. Heart Attacks, strokes, diabetes. I wonder what kind of world it would be if the governments held daily news coferences on the number of people who died yesterday from heart attacks? Would it cause a major lash back on 'anti-cholosterolers'. Arguing - don't let the government tell you what to eat! It's your freedom? To be fair, you can't spread a heart attack of course...hmmm or can you? ....
