I enjoy a bit of cooking from time to time. I even get decent results, most
of the time, which confuses me, because I'm not very good at most things, but
I'll own it. But simple go-to things that I don't have to think about much
and usually earn reasonable praise are:

1. Beef Stroganoff
2. Shepherds pie/chicken, leek and sweetcorn pie
3. Chicken Tikka masala or other Indian/Thai curry
4. Chicken/Mushroom Risotto (that's a signature dish).
5. Probably other simple things like mac and cheese with bacon bits,  idk.
