I've enjoyed being a DIY'er for years, and like many have learned from my own mistakes. I draw the line with plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, won't touch it. Two years ago I gutted and completely redid our upstairs bathroom that my kids share. I've also installed hardwood floors, a lot of drywall work as we had nail pops everywhere, and a lot of holes in the wall from an HVAC retrofit between our first and second floor. However, most of my DIY'er stuff is outdoor landscape. I love making pergolas, arbors, ponds, patios, firepits, enclosed and decorative gardens; while also finding scrap supplies and repurposing them into interesting flower boxes or sparrow bird houses. Unfortunately with the price of lumber up 700% this year, I didn't focus on many landscape projects this season but rather have focused more on the plant care and gardening. It's driving me nuts not to complete what little I have left, but 6x4x12ft pressure treated timbers are going for an unreasonable amount of money for the amount I need to finish off my kids playset area.
