Ugh. I remember the bad old days on that -- when you had to make sure you set
up various IP addresses correctly when getting connected to any network.

And then I remember running into an issue when I attempted to use those files
in Win95, and causing myself no end to pain in debugging.

Yeah, glad things have moved on, on that front. Much like how much nicer it
is to have FTN stuff built into BBS software.

Indeed. The avoiding of memes of that type is probably one of the best things
about using old technology.

But, agreed, sometimes additional bits would be nice.
