Honestly never been much ....so you're telling me that you went on BBSs, but you skipped the early internet phase? I kid. IRC is old technology, and I'm guessing that you're probably better off with some modern software if you're going to do lots of sharing and whatnot that you want to do in the app, rather than through links. Anyway, IRC (Internet Relay Chat) is a connected network of chat servers. Fairly distributed, too. And, mind you, there are still lots of networks involved -- the person you are talking to mentioned EFnet, but there are plenty of other, smaller, IRC networks. Team View is the only solution I've found effective from I can't say I've used Team View, but I tend to figure that most video-chatting software has something that works for document sharing, one way or another. E.g., sharing desktop if needed, and sending files through chat. So I'm sure it'll work. I mostly just mentioned MRC because it's a BBS solution, and it seems most appropriate, even if it's not the actual best solution. I mean, with a few exceptions, we're all a bunch of sysops, using BBSs for no apparent reason. I mean, I'm 80 ANSIs into a calendar app, and I have no idea why I've put that much effort into it rather than stopping and working on a different project. --- Mystic BBS v1.12 A46 2020/08/26 (Linux/64) * Origin: Storm BBS (21:2/108) .
