Subj : SIO/SIO2K To : Tiny From : Al Date : Wed May 06 2020 12:46:36 Hello Tiny, Al>> There is a new player now, teksavvy. Their web site is at Al>> teksavvy.com. I hope that will be the end of monopolies here in Al>> Canada. Service is good as always and the price is more in line Al>> with Ti> I was with them for 15 years. I paid 3 times to increase my speed, Ti> after a month they would lower it back to 6mb/s. I remember you saying this before. I haven't experienced this though I have only been with them a short time. Maybe six months now. My service is 60 down and 6 up and if I do a speed test that's what I get. The spped seems a little jittery these days on some sites, maybe because folks are all home and on the net, I dunno. Ti> I would wait on hold for 6-9 hours then they would charge me again to Ti> increase the speed. After the third time, I told them to shove it Ti> right up their ass. I haven't had to call recently but they have always answered within a minute or two. I once asked them some questions around IPv6 that the person told me they would have to ask someone to get back to me and they did 30 minutes later. Ti> Don't expect any sort of tech support. They were the best, they are Ti> now the worst. They just blame the cable or phone company when Ti> something goes wrong. That's true of every single ISP I have used. The folks I have talked to have been able to solve my simple issues and when I asked about things they didn't understand (IPv6) they directed the question to somone who could. Blame for service issues could very well be in the hands of the cable/telco. I have no IPv6 address because the cable company here (Shaw) hasn't put it on the wire for whatever the reason is. Perhaps it not ready. Ttyl :-), Al --- GoldED+/LNX * Origin: The Rusty MailBox - Penticton, BC Canada (21:4/106) .
