I know of that trick, but it still might not give you what you want. You
want your external gateway to allow more than two port forwards.

Putting the gateway into bridge mode is still only going to allow one
device to act as the router, so that might not work either.

The next issue you will face is if you can login as admin to your gateway
and make changes. A lot of ISP's wont give you access to those features.
