Yeah, when Fido-over-the-internet became prevalent, moderators lost their
hammer (the feed cut).

I have a different take on moderation -- when I moderated echoes, it was as
much about promoting new discussions, participating in them and promoting the
echo as it was about enforcing rules. When I see an echo where the only
postings are the monthly echo rules, I think it does a disservice to the
network.
