MODE CON CP SELECT=437

...from the command line, before telnetting, make any difference? It seemed to make a difference for my BBS ('telnet scbbs.nsupdate.info 61023') which is using codepage 437.

Although I only get 8 colors. It appears one needs something fancy
(https://superuser.com/q/413073) for 16-color (or higher) support from the command line.
