i've been hanging up on connections without ansi support for years lol. also just run on port 23. no bots ever manage to idle at the login prompt.

ip ban list is several thousand lines sometimes though.. i think it starts to
take a few seconds to make it through it.. normally i'd prefer to keep it but
i gotta clear it.
