Every release was built on Mageia5, which is also a very old distro but
this particular problem has nothing whatsoever to do with the build system
in use. The real problem is that, in order to run, OpenXP requires the
ncursesw5 libraries, which are not normally installed by default on
"modern" distros. It's now normal custom and practice for the ncursesw6
libraries to be installed by default but that is easily solved by the user
by installing the ncursesw5 libraries from their distros package
repository.
