this issue still sucks until today ...
Kees made the (upgrade) installation with the option "keep old configuration"
and writing a mail or reply to a mail was impossible.

Today I've fresh installed revision 4.07 over the existing installation
(found installation directory   C:\Fido\Winpoint  and set the option
fresh new install overwrite existing configuration and viola!

 * write new mail
 * reply to a mail

now works as expected

I've made a reg export before the fresh new installation. If its interesting for debugging purposes
