BR> * BR> Another brave soul {chuckle} I salvaged a laptop once, was not BR> something I want On the W95 Acer is a Program I really liked (and can't think of its Name as I'm typing). I've found another Program with the same name for the XP but it didn't have the same functions as the one Acer included with that notebook. The Program had a World Map that showed the TIME at 6 World locations (iirc) the user could choose, and it was as accurate as the Computer's Clock was set to. I got the CR1220 battery today. Last night I called around and found Walgreens had it available for a good price. Today before going to Walgreens We went to the K-Mart Stores that were being Closed, and I looked for a CR1220 battery but the stores We visited didn't have one. The closest size all their stores had was a CR1216 and ttbomk that ain't close enough to fit in the battery holder on the laptop. When I left the last K-Mart Store (in Kentucky) I saw a Big Lots Store across the street. They didn't have any Button Batteries ther, but a Sales Lady said Radio Shack used to have them. There are still a couple RS Stores in Louisville, KY, and I told the Lady one of them was on my way home to Indiana and I would stop by there. Radio Shack had the battery, $5.99, a higher price than Walgreens had told me over the phone last night, so I went to a Walgreens across the street from that RS Store and got one for $5.49 . Part of my lineage is Scottish and I do try to be thrifty. Some call it being a Cheapskate. BR> to repeat! I will stick to my desktops thank you :) I'll say AMEN! to that! Desktops are easier to fool with, although I didn't mind learning how that notebook was put together. I wouldn't had tried it without the Service Manual. I had tried opening the Case before but couldn't find out how to get the sections apart. I learned that several things have to be removed first, such as the Keyboard, and then those screws on the bottom could be removed to separate the top and bottom pieces. BR> ... I hunt flies with a sledge hammer....and get em!!! Reading that makes me think about not sending the check for the Postage to You yet............ HMMM I'm not that cheap, I will get a ROUNDTUIT......... ....
