Subj : Thunderbird To : All From : Holger Granholm Date : Wed Jul 13 2016 21:37:00 Good evening, I was extremely disappointed with the e-mail editor in Thunderbird yesterday. I was writing a mail to a friend and wanted to include a text that I had on another media. I fought more than half an hour to find a way to do it, but couldn't find a way. I had finally to settle for including the text as an attachment. To copy a text into an editor was possible already in the CP/M days, and was included in the WordStar command set, along with many more commands for various other editing functions, that are now missing from one of the leading e-mail programmes. Neither could I find a setting to use an alternative editor in T-bird. Among certainly other editors, including the Semware editor for Windows, there are all those various text copying, including, moving, functions still that we have been accustomed to in all these years of computing. Maybe there is another e-mail program for Windows, that includes a decent editor, or where you can use an alternative editor. Normally I use PMMail in OS/2, but this time I was sitting at a Win-10 machine. What a disappointment. Have a good day, Holger --- þ MR/2 2.30 þ It's the best I can do on short notice. * Origin: Coming to you from the Sunny Aland Islands. (2:20/228) .
