I have two PCs (Desktop, Laptop) that run Windows XP SP3 and they are still 
humming along! If you haven't decided on a Linux distro as of yet might I 
recommend Pop_OS! by System76 as a possible alternative. There are quite a few 
out there and this one is so well put together.
