EV@> So I'm sure You All can figure it out and get it working as it should. A new problem has cropped up. VADV32's FIDONet tosser, VFIDO, is apparently once again sending out duplicate MSGID's -- I had netmail routing problems with it awhile back. The options I have (most to least desireable) are as follows: 1) Try to switch the FIDONet style message networks to QWK NETWORKING -- but not every FIDONet network has that. It would be a hassle to switch this, as well as the hubs for such. 2) REMOVE all the message networks, and make the BBS a LOCAL MESSAGE BOARD only. The rest of the BBS would remain the same. 3) Look into switching BBS software...but my options here are limited: a) GT Power does have telnet...but no website interface, and no capability for email. Plus, I don't care for its QWK Mail setup. b) Synchronet crashed on me big time in late July...and with the lack of support and documentation for Mystic, I really don't want to mess with them. c) There are so few telnet/web BBS packages out there anymore, and I really don't want to have to learn a whole new setup; never mind paying exhorbitant registration fees for some of these packages. 3) Say "the hell with it", and shut everything down after 25+ years of Sysoping, virtually ending BBSing in Arkansas. I don't know how long it will take to get a reply from the developer of VADV32 (Steve Winn), or if anything can be done. But, the future of the BBS hinges on it. EV@> ...
