This feature will top the eastern US ridge over southern ON/QC toward sunrise, as the next strong upper trough digs into the Four Corners. Associated surface front has stalled across lower latitudes, but will continue to advance into the OH Valley into the early parts of the day2 period. As the primary focus for large-scale ascent shifts north of the international border, lack of focus along the trailing front should lead to only weak, and mostly shallow convection.
