Day 1... An upper trough moving into the western U.S. will encourage the closed low over the Southwest eastward -- from the Four Corners to eastern Colorado overnight. Models have trended a little wetter and colder with the system -- pushing the probabilities for accumulating snow upward over the higher terrain of the west- central Colorado ranges. The probabilities for snow accumulations of 4 inches or more have shown notable increases, climbing above 50 percent, across portions of the Elk and Sawatch ranges, especially for areas above 10,000 ft. The probability of significant ice across the CONUS is less than 10 percent.
