West-northwest mid-level flow is forecast across much of the nation on Thursday. A shortwave trough will likely move southeastward into the north-central states from Thursday night into Friday. This feature is forecast to reach the eastern U.S. on Saturday. At the surface, a cold front is forecast to move southeastward into the south-central U.S. on Friday. Weak moisture return should take place ahead of the front across parts of the southern Plains and Ark-La-Tex. Thunderstorm development will be possible along and near the moist axis from Friday afternoon into the overnight. This activity is not expected to be severe due to limited instability. ....Sunday/Day 7 and Monday/Day 8...
